A note from the Pastor Yes, my soul, find rest in God - Psalm 62:5 It feels like yesterday I was writing about Advent for the newsletter, and now we’re already in Lent! The speed at which this season arrives mirrors how I imagine many of us feel this time of year. Life gets busy so quickly and so easily. There is so much to be done for ourselves, for our families, friends, and loved ones, for our communities, for our church. It’s a lot! And because it is a lot, we may feel as though the solemnity of this season is more aspirational than achievable. We certainly can’t do it perfectly. I personally have never been good at keeping to a strict Bible reading plan, prayer journal, etc. Spiritual practices are for me – and I imagine, for many of us – an up and down journey. This places us in the steps of the disciples. They too journeyed with Jesus to Jerusalem, and they too became aware of their limitations. And for all their confusion and inconsistency, Jesus invited them on the journey anyway, and one of the very last things he did before his trial was to share a meal with them. Jesus invites us in the same way. With whatever limits, faults, wounds, or burdens we carry, Jesus invites us to journey with him and to find rest in him. May we be restored, encouraged, and rejuvenated on this Lenten journey together, knowing that we all have a seat at Jesus’ table.Pastor Morgan ABC Sunday — March 1 Attendance Builds Community Please join us as we come together for Communion on ABC Sunday, the 1st Sunday of each month.
